For the more energetic visitors, water sports are available and include jet skiing and paragliding, with many others being offered nearby. For family friendly amusements why not visit one of the Gran Canaria water parks, there are a couple within a taxi ride away. Like all the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria has a very low tax regime so bargains can be found in one of the plentiful shopping centres (or local markets) in Playa del Ingles, particularly jewelry, perfume and electronics. Prices do vary in proportion to how well you can haggle, so always ask for a discount and don’t be put off when they so no, eventually you will get one.
