Are you one of the millions of people on the east coast of the United States living on a tight budget for 2009 but still want to do some traveling and see some sites? This was the trend for a lot of us in 2008 and it looks to continue well into 2009 as we all wait to see when the economy will make the turn. So as we all wait we certainly can’t be expected to sit at home all year! So what will be one of the top destination for travelers this year on the east coast?
One of the top destinations for travelers on the east coast this year will again be Washington DC. If you are wondering why DC? Then let’s go through some of the big name attractions that are in the area. You have all the national monuments, then you have the many branches of the Smithsonian museums all of which by the way are free to tour. Free to tour! There you have the biggest reason why the area of DC is one of the most popular cities in America for attractions that people come to see year after year.
You really could spend weeks in the city of DC and still not see all the museums and all the history that is there. Then you have the national center for the arts with locations like with locations like the John F. Kennedy Center of The Performing Arts. That’s where you see those TV specials that come around once a year or so The Kennedy Center Honors. There are national symphony orchestra and opera houses and a national zoo in the area as well.
Plenty to do for everyone in the family so if you are on the east coast and looking for a travel destination with lots of cheap things to do. You would be hard pressed to find another city on the east coast with all the attractions that Washington DC offers.
