Thanks to the early north easter that hit in October that broke the snowfall record for NY city I am inclined to believe that this year will be another epic season for the winter vacationers. I say another because last year was one of the best ski seasons on record with good snowfalls all across the country. So watching that early storm drop all that snow in late October has got to have skiers and snowboarders super stoked for the new season.
One place that we are considering this winter is a place up in Vermont called Jay Peak which is way up there right near the Canadian border so about as far north as you can go in Vermont. Why there you may be wondering well let me tell you my curious webfolk friend. We have not been there yet but from what we have been told by a few friends that have been there is that it’s one of the only places on the east coast that you can experience the deep powder. It also has a ton of access to back country and perhaps most importantly it is one of the cheaper places to get your ski vacation on in the east coast. From what I have read that is because it is also the farthest away from all the major cities like Boston and NY so it’s going to be a bit of a trek.
One other new and fun feature about Jay Peak is that in a couple of weeks they are due to open a huge indoor water park by the name of Pump House Waterpark which will be extra fun for the kids. A nice opportunity to take a break from all the snow for both the kids and the adults. So that is the one place we are considering for a winter vacation this year. What say you webfolk? What are some of your favorite snow bound winter vacations? Leave your cool locations in the comments section down below and for those of you interested in learning more about Jay Peak here is the link just for you.
Kudos to you webfolk ![]()
